Cullie is the former General Manager of WBT radio, WBTV, and WCCB-TV in Charlotte, NC.

He is a past president of the North Carolina Association of Broadcasters (NCAB) and a member of the NCAB Hall of Fame.  Cullie also served as Chairman of the National Association of Broadcasters, Radio Board of Directors.   

After retiring from broadcasting, Cullie served 2 terms in the North Carolina House of Representatives, and four years on the NC Department of Transportation (DOT) Board of Directors.

Cullie and his wife Sylvia are the parents of three adult children with six grandchildren and one great-grandson. Cullie and Sylvia live in Blowing Rock.
